Special Operations Unit
The Special Operations Unit of the Sheriff’s Office consists of two experienced and well trained deputies. This Unit was designed by Sheriff Atkinson by converting administrative positions into more officers on the street. The Unit assists each divisions of the office to combat problem areas within the county. This Unit conducts many different type operations focusing on all levels of crime. The Unit focuses on specific areas within the county that are experiencing problems without having to remove other officers from normal assignments and duties.
