The Surry County Sheriff’s Office Civil Division is responsible for all civil processes issued to the Sheriff of the County. |

- Magistrate Summons
- Juvenile Summons
- Civil Summons
- Subpoenas
- Writs of Possession (Real and Personal Property)
- Show Cause Orders
- Claim and Deliveries
- Tax Warrants
- Writs of Executions (Enforcement of Money Judgments)
- Notice of Rights
- Attachments

| Other duties of the Civil Division include: |

Reviewing and researching all Permit to Purchase Pistol/Crossbow applications

Reviewing and researching all Permit to Carry Concealed Weapons applications

Maintaining records and storage of all weapons seized pursuant to Domestic Violence Orders (50-B) and collecting fees when applicable

Maintaining records of all property seized and placed in the Surry County Sheriff’s Office impound lot and collecting fees when applicable

The Civil Division is made up of (1) Lieutenant, (1) Sergeant and (5) Civil Process Deputies. |
